Been watching the Michael Jackson coverage, have you? Always amusing me the way we talk deferentially about anyone who has passed on, as though it were more of a sin to speak as ill of them after death as we did while they were alive.

It just seems like as a society we fucked this guy up, then ripped him for years about how fucked up he was, and we’re all his best friends now?

I’m ashamed to say that I’ve made Michael Jackson/molestation jokes as early as last week.

Also I wanted to write a six word challenge, but didn’t want to enter my own contest.

I agree. I never saw a Michael Jackson song hit the iTunes top 10 until after he died. Well, I guess that he was before iTunes, but bLAH. idk.

I think it mainly comes from the idea that one should not speak ill of the dead.
