Shafted

According to the security chatter, someone had found the bodies and now security personnel were swarming around like angry bees.

Rachel slumped against the wall of the elevator. “They just locked down the building. I don’t see any way out.”

Timothy’s cheek twitched, a facial tic brought on by anxiety. “Well, this elevator is safe for now.”

“Yeah but we’re like five-hundred feet under ground. We don’t have any place to go.”

“Did they say how they found the bodies so fast?”

Rachel crossed her arms. “Does it matter?”

“I guess not.”

“How long until they find us?”

The question became moot as shouting erupted on the other side of the elevator door.

“Damnit, this is like the worst case scenario.” Timonthy snarled.

“What if we got on the roof?” Rachel asked.

“Roof? The roof would be great. I don’t think they are just going to let us waltz by them.” Timothy answered sarcastically.

Rachel rolled her eyes. “The roof of the elevator, dummy.”

“I guess it could buy us some time.”

“Good, gimme a boost.”
