The planet, Încântare, was beyond enchanting. It captured your heart and stole rational thought as you could do nothing but stare. The anxious scientists were hovering over one of Încântare’s valleys of Sploses and the Birthing was about to begin. They shielded their eyes from the twin suns in the sky.

In the valley, hundreds of four-story-tall iridescent car-sized flowers were swaying in the chilly breeze coming from the Polar Storms.

Slowly, the flowers became stiff and the petals began to peel back. The process would take until the night. The scientists kept snapping pictures every ten seconds anyway.

When night fell, the outer petals were almost all peeled back and the stems were glowing a bright blue hue as the Sploses were getting ready for the final phase.

Suddenly, the valley began to glow as the flowers exploded open and plumes of Splose pollen hundreds of feet tall lit up the sky and the humanoid Splose babies cried and spread their wings on top of their fully-bloomed & now deceased parents.
