Audrey G. Burnett: Welder's Shop

Audrey’s feet headed in the direction that she always goes to. She had gotten out of the residential area so the streets were made of shiny copper and made a soft clanging noise with every strong step where it was all industrial shops.

“Miss Burnett!” A low pitch called from her right.

Audrey looked up at the roof of a welder’s shop where a young boy with green hair, a man in his fifties with more melted metal on him than skin, & the person who had called her that, Audrey knew, had skin that glowed in the dark. His name was Fireborn because he could forecast the weather of the Fire Cyclones.

“Hello, Fireborn, Mr. Steele, Leaf.” Audrey called back as struggled to plaster a smile on her face. The Steeles were good friends with her family and she couldn’t risk giving them a bad impression and then they would blather about her to the whole city.

“Shouldn’t you be preparing for the Expressionist’s Parade, Miss Burnett?” The older man called out.

“I’m taking a break at Crow’s.” She replied and scurried off.
