A very real and intuitive conversation. Folks should try to make time for these kinds of talks, to make sure they are not getting out of touch with themselves.

Good idea. BTW, the mirror wasn’t actually there, but it made for a better visual. :) I actually continued this conversation in my blog post.

I think the last exchange is especially telling, that the hobbies are not allowed to be simply hobbies. They have to be lucrative. A fair amount of self-denial in that.

You’re saying she should be happy with her hobbies and not make them into something bigger than they are. She is exploring her options, trying to find her niche, and sometimes hobbies provide a means to that end, with happiness to boot. shrug
