This must be one of the most compelling standalone Ficlys I have ever read.

Fabulous. As Jae said, I read it several times and learned more each time. I think that kind of writing is rare and very rewarding!

Entertaining. I think the main character is imagining her 21st birthday. I’m not sure. I am sure that this is a concentration in an easy going flow. It’s very readable and at the same time makes me think deeper than what’s presented.

I like how their eyes scrape.

Or he/she is dead and this is happening in the afterlife. Not a sunny thought, but hey, I can’t really figure it out. I’d like to think this is a happy, healthy, fully alive 17 year old dreaming up his/her 21st b-day.

Not sure i get it, but I like it. Seems to me that one of the kids in every group is the main character. Maybe recollecting….the last line is the one confusing me.

A varied range of interpretations, indeed. I was hoping the tags would well allude, but it seems not. Therefore, the summation in two words: time travel.
