One hundred of the most powerful industrialists in the world, wealthy billionaires all, formerly content to pull strings from behind the scenes, took direct control in 2020. The first world government was not the democracy that people hoped for, but a tyranny. These few men controlled ninety-one percent of the money on the planet and thus made decisions that governed every major facet of life for thirteen billion people- from communication, entertainment and technology, to transportation, to medicine and healthcare, to manufacturing and food growth. Except in specific arenas, innovation, creativity and imagination were discarded and replaced by familiarity, banality, and “sure things”.

This gave rise to dozens of groups determined to fight the system. They were known by many names- Pirate Lords, the Faceless, Ronin, Roaches, Untouchables, and The Cancer, but no matter their name, their goal was the same- to stop the world machine.

The elite considered them terrorists but history recognizes them as heroes.
