A Deadline, Two Bullets, & Shelley
“Why are we wasting our time with this girl? We already did a background search on her and she has nothing useful. And we shouldn’t be wasting time on recruiting with the tensions running so high with the Snakes.” Roark fumed, twirling her knife in her hand as she sat on the catwalk of the abandoned warehouse where they held meetings.
Snap fiddled with her equipment as she said, “I followed her around for a while and she didn’t do many interesting things. I mean, even her name is boring. Shelley. Boring!”
Birdie remained silent as she tended to Willow’s wounds. Willow only grimaced occasionally as Birdie dug out two bullets from her leg. After a few moments of silence, she cleared her throat.
“I know you are antsy and frustrated. But we are still in need of certain skills if we are to be able to take care of ourselves and oust the Snakes from downtown. We do have a deadline but we aren’t going to make it without the right people. Alright?”
Roark and Snap exchanged glances. Reluctantly, they both nodded.
