Quick little correction: change “affect” to “effect”.

I agree with you that too often we form impressions hastily, and do so to the detriment of others. Perhaps our focus should not be to obliterate our opinions and the the culture that affected their formation, but rather strive to not be so arrogant as to assume that our first impression is always an accurate one.
