Nice continuation. It definitely builds this conflicted sense of longing for but betrayal by the object of affection.

I thought an actual gunshot at first, but by the end it seems like a description of lightening.

Changed it to lightning. I didn’t realize the gunshot metaphor would be taken so seriously. This situation isn’t that dire, thankfully. I hate domestic violence.
