So, murder suicide? NIce idea and generally well set up. A bit hard to read with all that dialog all in one big, chunky paragraph. The usual convention is to start a new paragraph for each line of dialog said by a different person.

Nit picking points, I’m not sure they refer to the job as ‘janitor’ on a submarine. And the captain probably wouldn’t say the person’s first name, just rank and last name.
