The original poem was A Sad Child, by Margaret Atwood. It’s a bit awkward, and I may not have been able to use all the words but I think it’s fine.

It was fun to write though!

I absolutely love this, like I might even prefer this to the original with the least offence meant to the literary genius that is Margaret Atwood but! Favourite lines were the ice cream flushed with chemical, and that line about sadness seeping out of you. and that part about the sun. ESPECIALLY THAT LAST STANZA. I don’t know I love this too much this was great
