Tough Decisions
Breathing heavily, Shawn pressed himself against cold cement wall. Terrified green eyes wide, the college student looked from statue to statue, heart beating a million miles a second within the recesses of his chest. Swallowing dryly, he tried his hardest not to blink.
Because if he did, as Doe had warned, he would be killed.
But God his eyes ached. Surely a single bat of a lash wouldn’t hurt, would it? But Doe said very clearly any form of blinking could result in Shawn’s early demise. God, why had they come here in the first place? Ruefully, Shawn found himself unable to remember their foolish reasoning. Biting the inside of his cheek, he looked from one side of the room to the other. Seeing no signs of his Time Lord companion brought on a new wave of fear that slapped him cruelly into reality. Voice hoarse from both how dry it was in the small room and how scared he was, he cried out once more for his friend to hurry.
“Doe,” he whimpered. His voice peaked pathetically. “Now would be nice!”
