“Excuse me? Doesn’t exist?” John slowly said in disbelief.

“That’s correct. The hospital you were born in was made up. A sham. A fake. Conjured up. Understand?”

“No.” John scowled.

The Director sighed again, " Why are all of you Silvers so thick? The hospital you were born in was made up by some scientists as an experiment. And before you ask, yes these scientists were Americans and were working directly under the President."

John smirked. This sounded like it was some cheesy political intrigue novel. But then again… He was living proof. His smile faltered.

“Ah. Now it all sinks in.” The Director smiled sympathetically.

“So, what was the experiment?” John asked numbly, slumped back against the wall.

“They were simply trying to see how drastically they could change genes. When most of the babies came out looking normal and all of their vitals came out as regular. They packed up after six months and shut the operation down. Now we’re doing damage control. In a way.”
