I still have the rhythm of “We Real Cool” stuck in my head after reading it in your bio, so it carried over pretty well here. It’s interesting to see the vibrancy you pull out of a constraining set of words; that’s what’s fun about putting limits on yourself like rhyme scheme or meter, or alliteration. The only thing that sort of bothered me was the “now” at the very end. Felt abrupt and out of place, and not in a good way like it sometimes can be when concluding a poem. Otherwise, cool sketch.
