Aww. I don’t really know what it feels like to be short since I’ve been a tall person for as long as I can remember.. This is a nice view of both sides.

Really, it was an interesting poem—though you wouldn’t think of something so mundane to be that interesting—that’s what makes it special. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone talk about these types of bad things about being tall—a poetic version of the everyday.

I love that you suckered the pervs. This is just a real sweet little poem about something a lot of people can relate to in one form or another. Everybody thinks they are too much or not enough of something. We all have moments(or months, or millenia) where we speculate about how some impossible change would affect our lives. Hopefully we exanmine the qualities we have and embrace them because of these little flights of fancy…anyway, great poem…

Being short myself, I really relate to this. I love being able to walk under low-hanging branches, when others have to duck or get off the sidewalk. Or walk into crawl-space storage areas. There are times when I wish I could reach things up high, but mostly.. I like staying short. I also like your layout for the poem itself, it’s got a good natural feel to it. Thanks for writing this.

Style comment? As with the first line, could have had “But…” or “But if I were taller…” on it’s own (without the line-leading “And”, too). Just a random thought.
