The boy grinned and turned to the rest of the group. He quickly spoke in a Dalji dialect and all of them scurried to their feet, their thin faces breaking into malicious smiles as they picked up small rocks, yelling out small whoops.

“Share them.” Xafira said as she handed off the bag to the boy she had been talking to. He nodded and took off running, the rest of the pack speeding down the street after him.

Xafira dusted off her hands and beamed like a proud mother while Asia watched the kids round a corner, laughing.

“You could lead a rebel alliance with five-year-old kids and they would do anything you asked.” Asia chuckled.

“You just need to know how they think. Wait for the shouts.” Xafira said, leaning against the side of the building as she scanned the almost deserted street.
