I KNOW

NO!

I kick and scream and try to get them off me. They don’t understand…they don’t understand…

STOP! HE’S GOING TO FIND ME!

No he won’t, they say. You’ll be fine, they say. But I won’t! He’s watching… he’s always watching…

Stop thrashing, it’ll be over soon.

NO! I CAN’T! HE’LL FIND ME!

They throw me in a room, locking the door and muttering about “crazy”.

And there it is; lurking in the corner.

NOOOOO! PLEASE NO! GO AWAY! My throat goes raw as the man approaches, snaky tendrils sneaking up from his back, twitching in anticipation.

No… please… Sobbing. No reply. His blank white face glares at me, and I curl up.

And then he begins.
