Also, noting for absolute technical accuracy (read: nitpicking) – depowering the engines leaves the craft in freefall (as opposed to stationary) because of Newton’s first law.
The engines were already powered down (see Traversal). It’s assumed that reverse thrusters were engaged to achieve the literal full stop.
Of course, this will cause the ship to light up on anyone’s radar nearby, but then, Harking is already assuming they’ve been noticed.
