Alone in numbers.. only, not any desolation felt, just a sort of plodding along with droll tasks. There are coworkers who understand, at least one, so that’s better than zero.. Well, the glass is half full for me.
I’ve done that sort of work. Long ago. Before the minimum wage was introduced in the UK. It breeds a very special sort of despair alleviated only by the knowledge that it’s a temporary thing. Not so for this guy.

I hate manual labor. If I think it’s unnecessary, that feeling grows deeper and blacker. Sometimes being forced to work with people you despise encourages a particular kind of loneliness. Well done!
