“Why is your blood silver?”

Reeve sniffed again, running the warm washcloth over his face one more time. “Dunno.”

Willow shifted her spot on Reeve’s bed, humming in low acknowledgment. Reeve had found out soon after saving her that she was also a demigod. She was the daughter of Aphaea, the minor goddess of agriculture. Which made sense to Reeve after careful inspection of the girl. The long blond hair, the pale green eyes, the lightly tanned skin… it all made perfect sense. “And what’s with the wings? I mean, they’re cool, but…why?”

Reeve ruffled his feathers and flexed said wings, looking to the spot on his back where they connected. The rain had made them soggy and therefore heavy. The skin was torn and slightly bloody as a result. Reeve grimaced. “Why do you ask so many questions?”

“Sorry,” Willow replied. “It is a wonder though. I forgot, who’s your dad again?”

“Erebus,” Reeve said quietly. “God of Darkness and Shadows.”
