Blacksmith?

Quite strange, but I find the idea of a society based on flavour intriguing.

Tags might shed more insight into the story, indirectly…

Weird and cool at the same time. I’ve had a similar idea for sound that I’ve never written because I don’t quite know how to pull it off. This worked for me.

For some reason this story reminded me of The Tale of Despereaux. (That’s a good thing.) :D

I really liked the descriptions in the first paragraph, as well as the mental image of the Cloud Mites’ “pearl bellies”.

I didn’t see any negative comments that would cause you any upset. Everything I saw was positive…it just recognized your efforts to be deliberately bizarre and not-so-easily understood. Personally, I would never write a sequel to a story that was entirely mystifying to me, simply because I like to write with respect to the original author’s work. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with asking an author to explain their vision for the work, either. :)

Thanks for the tag advice, but I prefer not to use that to identify, or explain what my story is about, it can be a constraint, and actually can open the door to incredulity, that the genre is not what it seems.

Sequel my story instead, write it in a way you interpret it, that’s what Ficly IS. (Or was)

I change my mind regarding the tags, the search function is finally up and running, now tags serve the purpose for which they are intended.

intriguing, congrats on being very original! I’m curious about the “rain” part. Are the cloud mites withholding rain as a way to force the humans to obey? Or is there something else going on? I guess I’ll just have to imagine what it might be.

As always 32^2 manages to take us somewhere special. This is very unique and I’m curious on what sparked the inspiration. Beyond that I love theree things- 1) Chef’s being in control of fate, 2) the hot Prince on Prince action you used as a throwaway line, 3) the last line. It has a delicious cadence and ends with rain as hope. Awesome.

I am so very confused…

Maybe that’s just me, though.

ANYONE CARE TO EXPLAIN

Every sentence was packed with delicious worldbuilding details that I think provided just enough information for the most part. There were a few parts where it needed more context, but as part of an apparently larger work that’s to be expected. Really interesting.

Multiversal Iron Chef. Interesting.

It’s a very interesting universe you’ve created here. The story was well written and thoroughly enjoyable. And judging by the comments, I think everyone can agree that it was a pleasure to read.

Like marmite, I feel that this ficly can be either loved or hated. I loved it. It’s pure insanity, of course, but very well written insanity with a pinch of humour and a dash of social description.
