Childish intrigue can be so dangerous. This is actually a really sad story, for me, but maybe that’s just because I get overly attached to animals. Well written, with the detachment of an adult remembering their childhood traumas. You convey the emotions, the sights and the smells – put me right in the picture. Kudos!
