Light crept across dirty flagstones, inching reluctantly forward, unable to keep from illuminating the bodies that were wrapped so tightly together. Footsteps pounded across the courtyard, getting closer and closer to the figures on the ground until a frantic cry rang out. “You killed her!” One body was wrenched away from the other and shaken with desperate force. But the decrepit figure only smiled as his body was flung about. “You don’t understand”, he smiled with hate-filled eyes. “She wanted me to.”
Light crept across scarred flagstones, creeping inexorably forward, unable to keep from illuminating one body wrapped so tightly around another. Footsteps echoed across the courtyard, getting closer and closer to the figures on the ground until a hesitant whisper came from the shadows. “You killed her?” One body uncurled from the other and stood, obviously shaken. But he wasn’t ready to leave yet. “You don’t understand”, he whispered with haunted eyes. “She wanted me to.”
