Alone Now
Tears dripped down my cheeks as I watced her.
“Mom-” I choked out, my voice thick with tears.
“Shhh….” She said, her voice faint.
I gulped and looked down at her, her face was now creased with wrinkles, she looked so old, so tired.
“You have to keep going.” She said.
“Go where?” I whispered back, my voice cracking with sorrow.
“Don’t stop. Stay strong Jean.”
“Mom-”
“I love you Jean.”
“I love you too Mom.” My voice was softer than before, barley above a whisper.
“Goodbye Jean.”
“No! Mom! No! Don’t go! Don’t leave me! I love you! I need you! Mom!”
I grasped desperately for her hand, but it was cold. I looked desperately into her face, soft now, aged, lifeless.
The word twisted my heart. Lifeless. She was gone now.
I would never see her again.
I was alone now.
