At the start of the poem you’re feeling the bitter chill of a winter’s kiss. Icy in it’s frozen embrace while all the while longing for the summer to return it’s warm and welcoming heat. At the end you feel a warmth of happiness as the cold recedes into heat and color of summer days at the beach and nights sitting at a pool or lake. I love this piece for the fact that it takes you to different levels of feelings. The death and colorless gray of winter to the green and vibrancy of summer life.
