Wow! That was fun. It was like a delightful mix of sweet memories and bittersweet nostalgia. Nearly every line seems to hide a connection to something greater- which is how it should be. My second favorite part is the bit about Alice. My absolute favorite part is “Wear sunscreen”. Trust me on the sunscreen. :D Great job, Elsha!
The memoir was the most effective metaphor; stirred me the most. Some of the rest felt a little platitudinous (which I just typed and discovered was, in fact, a word).
