Eloise had always been fascinated by shiny objects. In spite of being completely incapable of self-reflection, she tacitly understood her lack of serious depth as a person. Her social group, far from anything resembling true friendship, was more of a collection of souls joined in a failed 12-step program working towards intellectual sobriety. She expressed herself in relationships through a combination of shouting matches, exchanges of veiled threats with a patented set of soul-crushing insults. Still, she was confused by her inability to step into a customer service career. There must be some career niche for those who seek to drain the life from all of those around them. I just need to figure out what I am going to do with the garage full of Am-Way, Mary Kay and Avon supplies.
