Times When I Think I Need This
You’ve found me again,
my old friend.
And here I thought my hiding
spot was fool proof this time.
I was doing so well at our little
game of hide and seek,
dodging around corners
when I saw you looking for me,
only moving under the cover of
night,
tiptoeing through the house
in my bare feet.
But, of course,
all good things must come to an end.
As I rounded the corner
near the picture hallway,
there you were,
pointing to me with your
eyebrows narrowed.
Got you, you said,
now you’ll stay put.
And I haven’t seen
my family since.
