The End (Day 30)

The astroid was scheduled to hit Earth any minute.

People gather outside. Lovers held hands. Families hugged. The sounds of gunshots can be heard constantly ringing out. No one stops them at this point. Why would they?

Everyone had hoped that technology had advanced enough to stop this, they didn’t this time.

“Mommy, is this what happened to the dinosaurs?”

The mom couldn’t really answer. Does she explain it? Does she have time?

Alone sat one teenaged kid. He wasn’t able to fly back and see his family. He hadn’t made friends nearby. A silent acceptance.

Around the world, no one fought. They just sat and cried and hugged.

For once in human history, world peace was achieved, even if before annihilation.

The animals frolicked, unaware of what was to come.
The fish swam.
The wind blew.
The sun shined.
Then nothing.
