I just realized that my latest ficly’s have been extremely depressing! I’m actually the most upbeat person just apparently I’ve been finding lots of inspiration from upsetting subjects!

Dark, sure. The images of regret/shame/destitute/etc. have enough haunt in them to unsettle me. It’s a cautionary tale. You’re expressing one of your fears in vivid detail, and that’s worth something. Knowing your fears is an intimate sort of self awareness, it reveals a lot about who we are, how we act, and such I suspect.

I think that the last line really defines the character and his/her feelings. Well done.
