The Art of Flying Against the Wind

You stand at the edge of the cliff,
Looking out at the vast world,
The sights crash over your eyes,
The sounds race in your ears.

You wish to fly,
To explore the wonders of the unknown,
You wish to soar,
Above all the beauty that lies below.

You dream of the day,
That wind not blow,
Patiently searching for that moment,
Where perfection will beckon you.

You will not succeed,
If you wait for the wind,
For the wind is majestic indeed,
But also very cruel.

You need to learn,
The most important of lessons,
That those who dream but wait,
Will never move.

You have the heart of an honest man,
And the soul filled with honor,
Even so the wind will always dance,
Leaving you erect at the edge of the cliff.

You my dreamer of great visions,
Listen to what I say,
If you search in your heart and soul,
You will find courage.

You now know all,
With courage by your side,
You may fly to where your heart desires,
Against the wind.
