I was born in year of the rat too—way to represent! The rhythm of the last stanza is awesome too.

I’m a ‘Rat’ too. My sister is a Dragon. I felt pretty slighted as a kid. Now that you’ve written this I can be proud of my rathood. Hehe. I love the nursery rhyme twists— mixing the negative western view with the positive Eastern view of rats is fun and practically educational.

Have you heard the legend of how the Chinese zodiac’s order was determined? All I’m saying is, there’s a reason the Rat is first.
