A World of Glass
“When you close your eyes, what do you see?”
“You”
“Me?”
“Yeah. You’re sitting in front of me aren’t you? You’re wearing a blue dress with white flowers and your hair is pulled back in a bun but there are a few wisps drifting around your face and neck.”
“Ok now lets get back to the exerci-"
“You’re wearing a white lace bra and black panties.”
“Wait a minu-”
“You haven’t shaved your legs in a few days and you have pit stains on your bra.”
“Now hold on-”
“Your heart is starting to beat much faster, the blood is really pumping now. Your stomach is producing more bile too and it’s starting to travel up your throat. I’ll bet it is burning pretty bad right about now.”
“How’d you-”
Lashes lifted to reveal too-old amber eyes as Marcy’s ten-year-old patient stared back at her from the leather chair that nearly swallowed his tiny body.
“I live in a world of glass where nothing is hidden." he quietly stated. “Covering my eyes with flaps of skin isn’t going to change that.”
