Discoveries (Day 75)

Bran ran his fingers along the exposed pipes of the sewer. They came away with grime that was slimy and gritty. Bran grimaced and wiped them on the edge of his coat. The orange-ish streaks seemed to glow in the dimness. That was odd. He didn’t remember anything glowing down here before.

He looked back at the pipe. The long trail of parallel lines that showed where his fingers had been also glowed. None of the other slimes that coated the pitted brick of the tunnel glowed, only the place where he had touched. Did it have something to do with his skin? Or was it something else?

It was kind of exciting. He’d traveled up and down these sewers extensively but he’d never seen this slime before. The Body’s Division of Science and Technology might pay well for this. His stomach growled at the thought of money. Money meant food.

Opening a thigh pack, he slid out a glass tube and a dental pick. He scraped the slim off the wall and caught it in the beaker.

A faint snuffling noise made him pause.

That was new too.
