Hi there, dear reader. I am in no way trying to ridicule or downplay the events described in the link, I just wanted to explore the mind of someone who was on the scene, but on an opposing side. I do expect you to have a sense of reality and humor, so hopefully this comment is unnecessary, but still.
You had me worried for a minute, but by the end it came across as not your opinion but a fictional piece looking at the passion behind that point of view. I think it wound up being an effective piece by way of reflecting how any resistance to change can seem “morally right” in the moment but look like utter folly to later generations.
This made me smile, actually. I enjoyed seeing the other point of view. It is a good stand-alone piece, but could be expanded too. Maybe something to think about? Nice job, and thanks for sharing. God bless…

Thank you for the explanatory comment it helped me read your story a bit closer and reduced the rage I was feeling. Your story happened to coincide with events that are happening today that I feel strongly about. Although art is supposed to inspire feelings, so on that front I commend you. Excellent work on the characterization here.
I think you did a good job with the language and with the historic perspective. I think it is an interesting point of view and probably quite accurate.
