Tragic but very telling portrait of what it’s like to be in an unhealthy relationship, the little mental tricks and slants used to make it seem okay.

Lots of questions and no answers. Many relationships are like this. You did a good job at portraying the feeling behind this. The metaphor of the butterfly was beautiful. You should use more of that in your writing.
