the greens
the street light was buzzing over head, i could practically feel it in my gut. i found enough shade to keep my shadow from being cast over the orange sidewalk.
“im on the west side of the street, on foot”
“alright, see you”
“yea”
a breeze cut through the empty lots tall grasses. they bent right at me, another indicator that i did indeed exist.
the truck pulled up quickly, and stopped on a dime. the window didnt roll down, so i reached for the handle.
“what up mark”
“my name isnt mark”
“so what chump, get in”
the heavy door slammed, the speakers rattled in the door panel, and an overhead light came on.
“lets see what you got man”
“same as yesterday, fresh spinach from an out of town farmer”
“2 bucks a pound?”
" yea its bagged in twos, i left my scale"
“i got five on it, i saw you rode your bike to the delivery”
“good eye”
“get that chain fixed man, smooth sailing.”
“peace”
