Morgan closed the trunk of her car onto the briefcase, hiding it from any observers – or at least any who weren’t Superman. They had to leave now, before whoever lost that money came looking for it.

Kati was waiting on the passenger seat. “I still think we should give it back.”

“To who? There’s no information in the case, just a whole lot of money. Besides … you know, finders keepers and all that … And besides, it’s Las Vegas, people lose money here all the time!” The little voice in the back of her mind was telling her that there were other ways to turn in the money. The bigger, greedier voice in the rest of her mind, though, was saying that this was more money than she’d ever seen in her life, and that she could finally make some kind of life for herself, and for her family.

“Kati, I need you to not tell anyone about any of this. Ever. Especially Mom or Jennifer or Cal. They can’t know.
