STONE BEACH

Soft stones
smoothed oval
by the ocean

great
I could really use
a paperweight
wait
I’m so confused,
Today came
late and
ate my
breakfast
and swiped
my necklace
then bounced
all unannounced,
wild, it crept in real
quiet style, ya feel?

BAD DAY/ I LOVE YOU MOM

Sliced pad of the pinky
bleeding
cigarette stinky
cathedrals to the cloudy
silver-lining slide
way up in the sky-beyond-high
word, I heard it’s sunny there
on the other side,
let’s ride, c’mon
that’s where we belong/

Remember Mom
taught us that
peace is strong
raising us using
beautiful thoughts
and lots of love and
wonder- think what’s
above- the big picture,
Listen to your big sister
and when you see her kiss
her! I read in the notes she
left for us kids, now I stop and
pop off some memory lids & let
the fireflies float like streams in
my paper airplane daydreams,
you mean so much to me
so here’s to you today
forever and
always,
love,
Tad

FREEDOM

I slipped out o’ my
boxers & my mind

I dipped in the ocean;
& left ’em both behind
