If you’d left out “men”, I would’ve been happy to imagine these were men OR dogs conversing, basically turning this into two “tails”.
You also seem to have mastered cultural jargon, terms and accents. It made for a grest read. Simple things like using jargon, cultural dialects and the such, set’s a time and a place and can even create an entire environment for the reader….and that saves a lot of explaining or “setting up a scene”. We have a lot to learn from you.
