"Wicked Taxidermist" Film Pitch
Tom is a wicked taxidermist who works with a wildlife preserve, pretending to love animals but secretly killing some, always keeping a trophy for his home when the officials aren’t looking. He has the leg of a wildebeest, the trunk of an elephant, the tail of a leopard, and so forth. His superior suspects nothing until one day the head of a lioness goes missing from the freezer. Trailing Tom one day, he gathers enough evidence for a search warrant from a judge.
Tom’s assistant tips him off before the police arrive, so he starts to stick all his trophies into hidden compartments in his apartment. The cops arrive and demand he open the door, but Tom refuses. They try to bust the door down just as Tom is trying to conceal his final trophy, but before he can, the door comes down and he’s caught red-handed. The sherriff, played by Don Henley, looks at Tom seriously and says he’s sorry, but his plot was doomed to failure. The take-away line that accuses him is this:
“There ain’t no way to hide your lion eyes.”
