She’s a philosophical zombie, rather than the flesh-eating kind; hence all her responses appear normal but there is no subjective content. A variation on a story I’ve had rattling around for a while…I will expand in a sequel.

This kinda makes me sick in the sense that the doctor is so cold about a person being low functioning. What we don’t know is how old she is, what happened to her, if anything, and what they could do about it. This is like what parents go through who learn of a devastating developmental disease or biological issue with their new baby. Or maybe a TBI after an accident. It’s simply tragic. Well done, JonB.
