Hmmmm. From our notes back and forth, I would extrapolate this has something to do with the world’s severely declining honeybee population.

If that’s the case, this is a horror story. If we don’t have these tireless workers left to pollinate almost every piece of flora on earth, we’re in a lot of trouble. Maybe beyond trouble.

I appreciate the blunted sentences in your last paragraph, It adds a sense of urgency.

Great story. ‘Heard the buzz of the net…’ nice foreshadowing. We should have known. I don’t understand the ‘popcorn-light’ however. Care to explain?

Thanks BiC. Popcorn-light = just a description of the weird insubstantiality of insect bodies, and the first thing that came into my head to express it. I do appreciate being told when I fail to make sense. If you see it happening again then you must take me quietly to one side and whisper to me: “Darling, you’re becoming incomprehensible!”

‘Popcorn-light’ – I like it! I thought you meant to write ‘popcorn-like’. Which is cool too, but a bit more silly. Although a popcorn-light might be what they call the heat lamp of a movie theater popcorn machine… Did you do appropriate research here? :)

Well, someone certainly needs to keep the bee population in check! They are certainly present at my house, but I know they are dying elsewhere.
