I like that this poem is so hopeful. The first line of the last stanza stuck in my head, I think because of the phrasing. I think it was more casual than I was expecting. That being said, I’m impressed you wrote this on the fly.
It’s like a set of new year’s resolutions but at the midpoint of the year. Remember that it takes a noble person to screw up royally. Or is that wrong? I may have screwed up peasantly…
Lovely though tragic pondering in the stillness. For me the last line suggests some future tragedy, that he is perhaps overly optimistic or he is literally going to go out taking what he feels the world owes him. Maybe I’m reading into it or just feeling pessimistic and dark today.
