I wanted to follow the challenge’s suggestion to use the two tags as the first and last words of the story, and that’s what came to mind; I will think about another way.

No need to think again – I simply read this through without realising that this was a challenge entry (usually the way, with me); taking into consideration those constraints, the structure makes more sense to me.
