Magical scene with a great feel to it. The ending took me a moment, but it worked quite well to depict some danger from a very distant point of view, which fits the grandeur and scope of the scene’s description.

I’ve just read this again – it really is very good.

I really like the level of detail that has gone into this: the Arabic names, and the panoramic descriptions; it’s very cinematic. Quite a feat for such a short story.
