Facade
William looked out towards the vast expanse before him. The breeze carried a sweet, gentle smell; he sensed lavender, and the strong scent of jasmine. He closed his eyes for a moment to savour the experience, before looking out again. The field was large; it reached out to as far as the eye could see. In the far distance there stood several large hills which seemed to form a border around the land. They rolled over the landscape, cascading as if they were forming a waterfall.
‘So, what did this one do?’
The guard paced around the cold steel room, looking over the equipment carefully. In the centre of the room there lay a transparent booth filled with some sort of liquid, a young man appeared to bob up and down on the surface. At the other end of the room, there stood a man in a white lab coat, who read over his notes before turning to the guard.
‘Murder,’ said the man bluntly, ‘he killed his own family, even his own kids.’
