Bizarre mystery. I like the local dialect that comes through clearly in the dialog. It makes for an unlikely Scooby Doo gang on the case. The second paragraph took me a bit, I think cause I didn’t get the part about ‘rolled up in a newspaper’ vs rolled in a plate. I got the idea, but it was a little convoluted.
This is odd in the extreme. I, also, am slightly confused about the newspaper and paper plates – I think it may take me a while to unpack this one; I shall re-read some more times.
Also, good dialogue – Southern States? Indian? Welsh? South African? I am trying it in a variety of accents to see which fits best!
