The writing feels like English is a second language, which is fine. It still read like a pretty good story with some hints at history and character…right up until the cop declares himself a mastermind. That kind of story is all well and good, but it felt like a big and unnecessary leap here.

A mastermind needs time to plan and plot, and outright calling himself one doesn’t seem sneaky enough.
However, having the man call her who IS the villain is a good move. He should not cal himself one just yet. We need more story!
